About President University
President University (PresUniv) is a globally oriented private university in Indonesia with “Unggul” institutional accreditation, the highest accreditation category awarded to higher education institutions in Indonesia.
Located in Jababeka, Cikarang, President University offers a distinctive learning environment where academic excellence meets direct exposure to the world of industry. The university is situated within one of Southeast Asia’s largest industrial ecosystems, surrounded by more than 2,000 multinational companies, giving students valuable opportunities to connect their academic experience with real-world business, technology, and professional environments.
President University provides an international and multicultural academic environment, with English used as the language of instruction and students coming from Indonesia and many other countries.
Our History
The conceptual plan of President University was first formulated in September 1997 by S. D. Darmono, Chairman of Jababeka Group, and Prof. Donald W. Watts, former President of Bond University, Queensland, and Vice Chancellor of Curtin University, Western Australia.
Their vision was to establish an institution that would prepare future leaders of industry and society by equipping students not only with academic knowledge, but also with the practical skills, international exposure, and professional experience required to excel after graduation.
The institution officially began operating in 2001, initially offering a Bachelor of Engineering degree under the name Cikarang School of Engineering (Sekolah Tinggi Teknik Cikarang).
On April 16, 2004, the Ministry of Education granted President University official status as a full-fledged university.
Today, President University has grown into an international learning community with approximately 10,000 students from Indonesia and various countries around the world. The university currently offers 26 majors across 7 faculties, covering diverse areas including Art, Design & Architecture, Business, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Manufacturing, Engineering, Law, Medicine, and Social Science & Education.
